Support to the actual execution of the Implementation Plan for Photovoltaics of the SET Plan and monitoring the Implementation Plan’s delivery

On 17&18 June 2020, thirty-two guests from industry and research organizations virtually met each other to explore the possibility of partnering up on future research projects related to the operations and diagnosis of PV plants and to PV manufacturing technologies.

These sessions aimed to foster partnerships between industry and research organizations on future PV projects under (trans)national funding schemes. They were part of PV Impact's series of matchmaking events focusing on two of the five industry-focused activities of the Implementation Plan, namely PV for BIPV and similar applications, technologies for silicon solar cells and modules with higher quality, new technologies & materials, manufacturing technologies (for cSi and thin film), and operations and diagnosis of photovoltaic plants.

After a short presentation on funding mechanisms, the participants joined the virtual conversation tables to pitch their project ideas and/or explain their potential contribution and value to each idea and/or organization. The one-to-one speed-dating format of these sessions enabled the participants to quickly identify whether their interlocutor had an initiative they would like to be part of.

Interactions were ranked by the participants in order to identify the best project idea and the most collaborative partner. Based on this ranking, the PV Impact consortium awarded Mr. Eduardo Fornies Garcia (Aurinka PV Group), with the winning prize. This way, the winner will count on the consortium’s support and mentoring to look for the necessary resources and funding mechanisms to develop the project proposal.

The next PV Impact matchmaking event will take place in September 2020. The exact date of the event will be confirmed soon at www.pvimpact.eu
